To my Daddy: {As I write this you are headed out to do some super cool detective work that will hopefully supply you with another great, movie-worthy story} I love you alot. I love how when I was little you would take me everywhere with you, no matter how boring you thought it would be or how much I made fun of your outfits {I’m obviously referring to the tapered-leg sweatpants here}. I love that you let me be a little girl but taught me to do cool “boy stuff” too. I love that you always had and still have the answers to even the most ridiculous questions {how does a toilet flush?}. I love that I have always been able to talk to you about anything and everything no matter how serious or silly. I love that you came into school to teach us 2nd graders to sew. I love how when I was younger {and we were poor} and you would travel for work you would always be thinking of me and bring me back something. I love how we always did {and still do} crafts together. I love that you took me to the library for story time {ANTS ON A LOG!}. I love waffles and ice cream. I love how you let me transition from you little girl into a young women smoothly and taught me lots of things along the way. I love that you trust me to make good decisions. I love how you can’t give a concise order at the drive through to save your life. I love that you were singing Lady Gaga in the car the other day with me {even though it’s still all about classic rock}. I love out late night TV-show-and-cheesy- Netflix movie nights. I love that you let me into the “man-cave”. I love the way you love Mommy a ton and still show her tons of affection {even if I say it grosses me out}. I love that you always put your family first and will do absolutely anything for us- I know you just want to give us the world. I love alot of other things too. Thank you giving me a great example of a what a good husband and father is. I love you! Happy Father’s Day!
To my Pop-Pop: You are easily both the wisest and wittiest man I know. I can’t think of another person who explains things with as much though and clarity as you. You are so smart and well read and if I have a question about something I know I can go to you and you’ll have an answer for me-and I love the long talks that often follow. Your endless supply of freaky, enlightening and mostly funny stories are always a highlight of conversation. Supposedly {at least according to my mom}, there was a time when I was afraid of you; and while I guess I can see why I don’t really believe it because you’re totally awesome! I love you! Happy Father’s Day!
