Mom

earlier mom asked me why i hadn’t posted “anything cute on facebook for mother’s day”. i replied that i had a blog for such things. shouldn’t have said that she got way too excited and all i had was this silly poem-like thing. but it’s mom’s day and she wants a post-so here it goes:IMG_2411 - Copy she gave me her eyes, her smile and her great sense of style. when i was sad she wrapped me in her arms, looked into my eyes that mirrored hers and told me “it will all be alright.” her smile lights up a room whenever she walks in and makes all feel welcome. even still when i get dressed in the morning i think “would mom approve?” but i’m glad i don’t dress like a stooge.

she taught me walk, to talk and to shop. whether it was my first wobbly steps, the confident click of high heels or to moving confidently in the direction of my dreams she has taught me to walk from day one. her stories and jokes crack people up but she also taught by example to use kind and gentle words when needed. and now we’re back to the style thing, what can i say i like nice things and pretty colors…i am my mother’s daughter.

i can’t imagine being a mother at my age but my mom did it and i’m glad she did. i’m also really glad she’s my mom, no one could have done it better. love you momma!
